Rapid Drug Tests

When minutes count, Innovative Labs rapid test programs offer drugs of abuse screening that is rapid and reliable. Rapid point-of-collection testing (POCT) provides on-site screening for drugs of abuse, urine specimen validity, and saliva alcohol following Innovative Labs protocol. We perform rapid tests in our facility center, or customers may choose to perform tests in their own facilities.

Rapid tests performed at Innovative Labs patient service centers (PSCs) that screen negative typically have results available to the ordering client within four hours. Innovative Labs certified laboratories provide mass spectrometry confirmation for non-negative rapid test drug screens. Mass spectrometry confirmation results are typically available within 48-72 hours after the specimen is received in the laboratory.

The POCT process uses the same methodology as lab-based initial screening but is performed by the specimen collector at the point of collection with a single-use FDA-cleared test device. When collections and testing are performed in an Innovative Labs PSC, the screening results are entered into our web-based tool. Once entered, results are downloaded into the laboratory information system, enabling customers to obtain electronic reports and statistical summary data. The rapid test result entry web tool is available for use by customers
who choose to perform the screening in their own facilities.
